Timothy Brock Chaplin Interview

The Chaplin Family's Musical Director talks to me about Charlie's Scores.

How did Charlie Chaplin, unable to read music, self-taught in all the instruments he played, come to score his own movies to an incredibly high standard? Timothy Brock explains his methods, how he worked with his arrangers and how a modern conductor has to approach the scores for such films as City Lights, Gold Rush and Modern Times.
